Artist Statement :
My work is a transformational process where I engage with domestic spaces and objects specifically related to women. I paint and explore women’s silhouettes to observe women’s agency in different cultures and societies. “In connection with” makes visible the inter connection of physical and metaphysical realms. While also capturing the essence of natural world. Through my work, I evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity about our surroundings and strives to capture the subtle interplay color in nature as a textile pattern weaves various stitches. In my creative process, I meld experience, concept, and material in the form of narration by incorporating various painting materials and techniques. These materials and methods are historically suggestive of craft and fine art traditions. I believe materials carry value and agency, and I apply them in the fabrication process.
